Properties and benefits of Spirulina Eco powder

They occur naturally in tropical and subtropical lakes with high pH and high concentrations of carbonate and bicarbonate.

Dried Spirulina contains approximately 60% protein (51-71%). It is a complete protein containing all the essential amino acids, although with reduced amounts of methionine, cysteine, and lysine compared to proteins from meat, eggs, and milk. It is, however, superior to typical plant protein, such as that found in legumes.

Spirulina has a lipid content of approximately 7% by weight, and is rich in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), and also provides alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), linoleic acid (LA), stearidonic acid (SDA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), and arachidonic acid (AA). Spirulina contains vitamins B1 (thiamin), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (nicotinamide), B6 (pyridoxine), B9 (folic acid), vitamin C, vitamin A, and vitamin E. It is also a source of potassium, calcium, chromium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, selenium, sodium, and zinc. Spirulina contains many pigments that may be beneficial and bioavailable, including beta-carotene, zeaxanthin, chlorophyll-a, xanthophyll, echinenone, myxoxanthophyll, canthaxanthin, diatoxanthin, 3′-hydroxyechinenone, beta-cryptoxanthin and oscillaxanthin, in addition to the phycobiliproteins c-phycocyanin and allophycocyanin.

How to take Spirulina Eco powder?

It can be mixed as an ingredient in drinks, yogurts, soups, gazpachos and salads. It can also be added to shakes, smoothies, bowls and all kinds of desserts or ice creams.

Storage conditions

Store in a cool place (preferably 5-15°C), protected from direct light. Store in a dry (preferably 55-65°C) and clean environment.

Once opened, seal tightly and store again under the conditions described to prevent exposure to ambient moisture, odor adhesion, and microbial contamination.
