The algae we use is grown in a climate-controlled environment, in a closed system. The three-month cultivation process mimics the accumulation of astaxanthin in nature and produces an exceptionally pure and high-quality microalgae compared to astaxanthin grown in outdoor ponds.

The extraction process uses supercritical CO2 extraction technology that avoids excess heat and ensures a solvent-free product.

Two capsules provide a full 8 mg of naturally active astaxanthin, a level comparable to published studies. Plus, natural vitamin E, which helps protect cells from oxidative stress.

We use a natural material derived from freshwater green algae, Haematococcus pluvialis, in the natural form 3S3’S.

Synthetic astaxanthin is Rs-3S or RS-R’S and although it is cheaper, it is not known if it is active or safe.

Natural sources of astaxanthin, such as algae, predominantly contain the 3S,3’S form (Lorenz and Cysewski, 2000).

Other organisms such as shrimp and krill contain a mixture of the different forms at different levels depending on the species and the food they ingested to obtain astaxanthin.
