Oleicito di Iperico by Officina Naturae is an ointment, traditionally known as oil of San Giovanni, used for pain of nervous and muscular origin. Useful for muscle contusions and hematomas (bruises).

Properties and benefits of St. John’s wort oil

This oleolite is obtained by macerating the buds and flowers of St. John’s wort – Hypericum perforatum – in oil. Commonly used, we recognize the anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and vulnerable (healing) properties especially for skin reddened by sunburn or excessive sun exposure. Topical application has improved wound healing by also reducing scar tissue (applied three times a day).

Precautions

It may be contraindicated to use on the body before sun exposure, especially if you are photosensitive or on UVA-B therapy.
