The Ceylon cinnamon tree is a tree that can reach fifteen metres in height. Originally from present-day Sri Lanka, its leaves are long and shiny and its small round flowers produce dark blue fruits. This tree measures 10 to 15 m and is the main species of cinnamon.

After having crossed through ancient Greece and Rome, cinnamon became famous in the Middle Ages.
