Properties and benefits of Fennel

Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare Mill.) Is a spontaneous plant that grows in the temperate regions of Europe, native to the shores of the Mediterranean from which it spread towards the East, up to India.

Fennel preparations are traditionally used for the symptomatic treatment of gastrointestinal disorders (bloating, flatulence and irritable bowel), mild spasms (cramps) associated with the menstrual cycle.

It is also used as a secretolytic and expectorant to promote the expulsion of mucus in case of cough associated with a cold.

How to take Fennel?
