It is a species of phanerogamic plant belonging to the Lamiaceae family. It is native to the warm regions of Europe and central and western Asia, eastern Himalayas, and Siberia.

Arvensis mint has a pure and refreshing scent characteristic of this plant. Its flavor is red hot and pungent. It has a more intense smell than peppermint.
In addition to the well-known mint tea, it is a wonderful dressing for salads, soups, sauces and stews. It is also used to accompany roasted lamb and the Iranians mix it with yogurt and cucumbers to make a very refreshing sauce.
