Perilla vegetable oil from seeds. Organic virgin oil from Perilla seeds, extracted by first cold pressing, represents an excellent source of polyunsaturated fatty acids. Compared to other vegetable oils, perilla seed oil is the richest source of omega-3 fatty acids: alpha-linolenic acid (64%). It also provides omega-6 fatty acids: linoleic acid, and omega-9 fatty acids: oleic acid. The normal omega-6/omega-3 ratio for “good health” should be 2 or 3.
