Properties and benefits of Ravintsara essential oil

Originating from Madagascar, ravintsara is a medium-sized tree with reddish bark and leaves similar to those of laurel. Its name in Malagasy means “leaf good for everything” or “tree with good leaves,” from the words “ravina” (leaf) and “tsara” (good).

It is the quintessential tree for all Malagasy people, who use it to flavor rum.

How to take Ravintsara essential oil?

Use: Food flavoring (FEMA No.: 2231)

Dosage for food: 1 drop in a dish for 5 people (never exceed 2%)

Always use essential oil diluted in a suitable vehicle (e.g., vegetable oil, honey…)

Soluble in alcohol, fats (vegetable oils and butters), and emulsions (creams).

Insoluble in water. However, it can be used in mixtures in this type of product, provided it is pre-mixed with Solubol (in this case, 4 times more Solubol than essential oil is needed).

Precautions

Allergens: Limonene, linalool.

Always use the essential oil diluted in a vegetable oil or other suitable vehicle. Follow the recommended doses.

Do not use in case of pregnancy or breastfeeding, in children under 3 years old, nor in case of asthma, epilepsy, or allergy to any of its components.
