Properties and benefits of Red Myrtle essential oil

Myrtle is a shrub that grows wild in the dry scrub around the Mediterranean. Its small fragrant white flowers give way to black berries often associated with the goddess of love, Venus-Aphrodite or even the crowns of the bride and groom in Greece. The myrtle leaves are harvested from May to September, leaving two-thirds on the tree to preserve its productivity.

How to take Red Myrtle essential oil?

It is advisable to add 1 drop to a dish for 5 people (never exceed 2%). Always use essential oil diluted in a suitable support (ex: honey, vegetable oil …).

Soluble in alcohol, fatty substances (vegetable oils and butters) and emulsions (creams). Insoluble in water. It is however possible to use it as a mixture in these types of products but pre-mixed with Solubol (in this case it is necessary to put 4 times more solubol than essential oil).

Precautions

Always use essential oil diluted in vegetable oil or another suitable medium. Respect the recommended dosages. Do not use in pregnant or breastfeeding women, in children under 6, nor in asthmatic, epileptic, allergic to one of its components or in renal failure. This essential oil can be allergenic. Consult a specialist for all other indications.
